Big Bear 10k trail race ✔️ Had the best time out there with the best people! This @hoka trail collective has been a such challenging yet rewarding experience and if I had the chance to do it all again, I would do it in a heartbeat!

Ellen was training for the self-supported Marji Ge

Ellen was training for the self-supported Marji Gesick 200 Mile but the race dates didn’t work with her schedule, so she did the event as a solo runner earlier with the help of an amazing crew!

After a mentally tough first 100 miles, Ellen rallied and had a much stronger second half.

Finished just before midnight last night, local time! For the most part it was great, but it was also incredibly painful! I’ve never been so happy to stop moving! Met a great group of runners, from a couple of different countries, that kept each other company on and off for almost six days! It wasn’t until yesterday, when I started to smell the hay in the barn and was moving faster and with more purpose that it got painful. “Speed” is always “worse” than distance. The mountains in the Alps are something else! Way more aggressive than anything I’ve personally experienced elsewhere! The trails tend to go either up or down. Not a lot of traversing. As you traversed west from the German speaking parts of Switzerland to the French speaking parts the aid station food kept getting better and better with options such as raclette and French mushroom soup. Finish time was 133:42:07! Thank you for your support!
