#medalmonday: Ortega River Run 5 Mile.

If you watched my reel yesterday, I basically complained about how unseasnoably warm it was for February and I proposed a new law that all races in Florida should start prior to 8 am between now and October. Will it get to the house/state senate floor? Doubtful.

Results:

5th masters (masters running around here is no joke.)

Outside of the warmth and humidity, this was a fantastic race from top to bottom. Well organized, TONS of entertainment, and a beautiful course. Maybe next year I’ll look up and take in the downtown Jacksonville skyline when crossing the two main bridges. I missed the view... twice.

Looks like the weather may be the same for the Gate in two weeks. *Sigh* Time to find a sauna to train in.

When I raced most trail races in road shoes…wait, I still do!

Grateful to have spent this race with Super Bee, Mike and Zoroaster, all who have had a big impact on my life. Little did I know, they would all tragically leave this world before their time.

It wasn’t my day from my mile 1. I wanted to drop at 10. But you know what? At 50 f’n years old, I’m lucky to still be able do this. Not sure if I’ll ever see a sub 3 at this point, but it’s certainly not for lack of trying.
