Chris weathered the rain and wet conditions to come in sub-24 hours in 23:18, 4th place in his age group, and 15th overall out of 110 finishers.

This is long overdue…like 3 weeks overdue. I ran the inaugural @copperkings100 in Butte, Montana at the end of June. It is the labor of love of @midpackelite and Wes’s other half rainchick247 and what a fantastic race it was!
I went out with a goal to fuel well, and have fun and get to Our Lady with daylight to spare so I could visit with @liveloveultrarun and I’m happy to say that all goals were accomplished. I paced like a champ and saw @jamesjay1971 at each aid within minutes of my predicted time. I danced with some volunteers, ran with some lovely humans and wrapped up golden hour with the hilarious @tomrunstucson . My boys paced me in the last 3 miles which was so special. I had one little rough patch but that’s to be expected in 100 miles and I was able to troubleshoot through it. I absolutely love this course (minus a few miles between 80 and 90🤣) and can’t say enough how y’all need to get there next year! Oh and I came 3rd woman but that wasn’t part of the race plan just happened to be a cherry on top! Thank you as always to my coach @emilyharrison0708 with @sundogrunning for all her guidance! “It was amazing!! Don’t know if you’ve been to Tahoe but truly feels like there’s no bad spot to be in the area - beautiful mountains and lakes, it’s incredible!

Body felt super strong and no injuries cropped up the whole time which I was pumped about. Super challenging course with constant up/down but definitely what I loved most about it.

Couldn’t keep a lot down end of day 1 or any of 2 but then realized I could eat more at aid stations and then just not do nutrition between 🤣. Definitely not ideal or recommended but seemed to work and I felt stronger and better day 3 &4 than I did in beginning.

Appreciate you and your wisdom! So amazing to have confidence in my training and get to enjoy these adventures :)”
